US Layoffs — July 2010

The US labor market showed signs of rising strain as employers submitted 231 WARN Act notices in July 2010, putting at risk an estimated 22,850 workers — up substantially from June and down 5% versus July 2009. Filings came from 24 states and territories, with an average of 99 workers per notice.
